About Michael DeVault owner of BPBG

I was born in Morgantown, West Virginia, in 1986, a place where rolling hills and tight-knit communities shaped my early years. Growing up, I learned the value of hard work and perseverance, traits that would define much of my life. At Morgantown High School, I channeled my energy into wrestling, earning all-state honors and graduating in 2004. That same year, driven by a desire to serve, I enlisted in the U.S. Army, beginning a journey that would test my resilience and forge my leadership skills.
In the Army, I became a paratrooper with the storied 82nd Airborne Division, where I deployed to Iraq as part of the Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC). Working in high-stakes environments, I developed a keen sense of strategy and adaptability. Later, I joined the 173rd Airborne, deploying to Afghanistan as a reconnaissance team leader and sniper. Leading teams through complex and dangerous missions taught me the importance of trust, precision, and staying calm under pressure—lessons I carry with me today.

In 2012, after nearly a decade of service, I left the Army and transitioned to a role as a defense contractor with Triple Canopy, serving as a designated defensive marksman. This work kept me overseas, but by 2014, I was ready for a new chapter. I married my wife, settled in the rolling hills of middle Tennessee, and welcomed two sons into our lives. To build a stable life close to my family, I founded Tree Fellers LLC, a tree service company. Running the business was rewarding—it provided for my family and allowed me to stay rooted at home—but I knew it wasn’t my forever calling.
While managing Tree Fellers, I began exploring new opportunities, drawn to the world of business brokerage. I studied part-time, balancing the demands of entrepreneurship and family life. Becoming a business broker wasn’t just about extra income; it was a chance to learn the intricacies of buying and selling businesses, skills I later used to successfully sell Tree Fellers. That experience was a turning point, igniting a passion for helping others navigate their own transitions.
Today, I’m the owner and principal broker of BridgePoint Business Group, based in Nashville, Tennessee. At BridgePoint, I work with business owners across middle Tennessee and Louisville, Kentucky, guiding them through the process of selling their companies. Whether they’re ready to retire, pursue a new venture, or simply move on to the next chapter, I bring a unique perspective shaped by my diverse background. From the discipline of military service to the grit of entrepreneurship, I understand the challenges and rewards of building something meaningful.

My journey—from the wrestling mats of Morgantown to the battlefields of Iraq and Afghanistan, and now to the boardrooms of Tennessee—has been one of constant growth. Each chapter has taught me the value of resilience, strategic thinking, and genuine connection. At BridgePoint, I’m not just a broker; I’m a partner to my clients, committed to helping them achieve their goals with clarity and confidence. When I’m not working, you’ll find me spending time with my wife and sons, exploring the outdoors, or reflecting on how far this path has taken me.
